At least 10% of players in each tournament will receive prizes. Prizes of at least 500 PLN will be paid by bank transfer.
All prizes are given in gross amounts. According to Polish law, prizes above 2000 PLN are subject to a 10% flat tax.
6. Tournament rules
Current FIDE rules apply. In classical tournaments, the default time is 30 minutes.
During the game, players are not allowed to have any electronic devices with them unless such devices have been authorized by the arbiter. Switched-off mobile phones may be deposited before the round.
The following tournaments will be submitted for FIDE rating: Adolf Anderssen Memorial (rapid), Wroclaw Open A, Wroclaw Open B, Wroclaw Open C, Wroclaw Senior Open, and Anderssen Evening Blitz (blitz).
In classical tournaments, players may request two half-point byes in Rounds 1–7. This must be reported to the arbiter no later than the end of the last game of the previous round. This option is not available to players receiving special conditions.
7. Registration
Registrations should be submitted via the Festival website at www.chessinwroclaw.org or by

Registration and entry fee payment deadlines:

· 28.07.2026 – Adolf Anderssen Memorial, Polish Open Chess960 Championship
· 7.08.2026 – Group E, Group F and Group G
Players are strongly encouraged to pay the entry fee by bank transfer in advance.
In justified cases, especially for foreign players, payment at the Festival office may be accepted upon prior contact with the Organizer.
The Organizer reserves the right to close the registration list earlier. A registration is considered confirmed once the entry fee has been paid and the payment has been marked on the starting list.
Players who have paid their entry fee in advance and have been marked on the starting lists do not need to confirm their presence at the Festival office. Otherwise, they should report to the office before the deadline for closing the starting list.

8. Accommodation
The Organizer offers accommodation in student dormitories of nearby universities, located within approx. 1.5 km of the playing venue.
Accommodation is available in single and double rooms.
In the standard layout, two rooms share one bathroom.

10. Final provisions
Participation in the Festival means consent to the processing of personal data by the Organizer to the extent necessary for the organization of the event.
The Organizer reserves the right to use, free of charge, photos and audiovisual materials made during the Festival for information and promotion purposes.
Players are responsible for their own insurance.

11. Information for international participants
The organizers warmly welcome participants from abroad to take part in the Adolf Anderssen Chess Festival, held in Wrocław, Poland. Wrocław is located in the southwestern part of Poland, close to the borders with Germany and the Czech Republic. The city is well connected and can be easily reached by air, rail, coach, or private car.
By air:
Wrocław–Copernicus Airport (WRO) offers direct flights to and from numerous European cities, including London, Frankfurt, Berlin, Milan, Paris, Oslo, Stockholm, Eindhoven, Dublin, and others. The airport is situated approximately 10 km from the city centre.
By rail:
There are direct or convenient rail connections from Berlin, Dresden, Prague, Vienna, Kraków, Warsaw and other cities. Trains arrive at Wrocław Główny (Main Station), which is located near the playing venue.
By coach:
International coach services such as FlixBus operate regular routes to Wrocław from many European cities, including Berlin, Prague, Vienna, Amsterdam, and Paris.
By car:
Wrocław is located along major roadways including the A4 motorway and S8 and S5 expressways. Travel by car is possible from neighbouring countries and other regions of Poland.
Visa information:
Poland is a member of the Schengen Area. Citizens of European Union member states and most European countries do not require a visa to enter Poland. Players who require an official invitation for visa purposes are kindly asked to contact the organizers in advance.
Two chess festivals in one trip
We encourage all participants to extend their stay in Lower Silesia and take part in the 62nd Akiba Rubinstein International Chess Festival in Polanica-Zdrój (14–23 August 2026) – the oldest chess festival in Poland, located about 100 km from Wrocław.
